Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Christine + Byron

Christine and Byron are getting married in just a few short weeks and I  had the great joy and honor of working with them on their Letterpress Wedding Invitations.  I had a fantastic time letterpress printing the pieces for her invitation suite and I’m so glad I’m able to share them with you today.  Christine initially contacted me in early January for their October wedding.  She envisioned a very simple design and knew exactly what font she wanted to use.  With that being established, and once I received her preferred wording, we were able to move onto the letterpress printing part of the process fairly quickly.  Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, here are Christine and Byron’s letterpress cards….

Letterpress Wedding Invitations:

Letterpress Cards:

The pieces that were included in her invitation suite are as follows:

  • 1-color Invitation
  • 1-color Reception cards
  • 1-color Rehearsal Dinner cards
  • 1-color RSVP

These were printed with black ink on our C&P.  The cardstock she chose was our Fluorescent White in 110# which I thought was perfect considering we were using black ink.  It really gave it a nice contrast between the ink and color of the paper.  We also printed Thank You notes for Christine and Byron (not pictured).  The font used for their letterpress cards was Carolyna Pro Black.

I sent the invitations shortly after we finished printing them and she sent me an e-mail to confirm they were received safely.

Letterpress Invitations: Allison + Marco

With their wedding quickly approaching (literally in a few days), I really wanted to take the time to showcase Allison and Marco’s letterpress invitations.  Allison and Marco are getting married this Friday at the beautiful Saint Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Pearl River, New York.  The reception follows at the picturesque The Rockleigh in New Jersey.

I started working with Allison in early January for their upcoming October 2013 wedding.  For their wedding invitations, she really wanted to incorporate lace details along with wine vines/grapes.  She also sent me a photo of an urn that they’re using for their centerpieces that she wanted to incorporate into the custom letterpress design as well.  We decided to go with a 2-color letterpress invitations design, leaving the vines/grapes detail in a blind impression, giving it a subtle look amongst the elaborate border surrounding it.  The urn, nestled in between the vines, is also in a blind impression.  Because we decided to go with that for those details, I was able to get a deep impression which really showcases the letterpress print so beautifully.

She sent me this stunning image of the church that they’re getting married at and wanted include this in the map design.  Boy, was I excited to print that one!   I just knew the details of that church would print great!  For their response cards, we went with a postcard, which I love.  Their entire Letterpress Wedding Invitations were printed on our Pearl White cardstock in 110#.

I am honored to have been apart of her wedding process and so thrilled for them that they are tying the knot this week!  I absolutely loved the letterpress invitations we printed for them and happy that she loves them as much as we do!

Denise + Mathew: Elegant Art Deco Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Have you ever had the pleasure of working with someone who you felt like you just clicked right away?  As if you were friends even before working together?  That’s how it was working with Denise on her Letterpress Wedding Invitations.  Her appreciation for paper goods and the art of Letterpress was an added bonus!  To share that same appreciation for something so beautiful was like being on cloud 9.

For her letterpress wedding invitations, we incorporated some beautiful scripts with some fun art deco fonts to help convey the 1920’s theme that she was going for.  We also added a fun border to some of the pieces to help with that as well.  With this design, I thought printing them on our 110# Pearl White cardstock would be perfect; giving them a soft, elegant look and feel to them to tie it all together nicely.

The Letterpress Wedding Invitations:

I had so much printing these and was so thrilled to send them to her.  She was so wonderful by e-mailing me back a few days after sending them out to her guests to tell me how much everyone loved them.  I was beaming with joy and the responses we received totally made me giddy and jumping with joy!

Hi Elma!

I hope you’re doing well!  I wanted to send you a quick update on my end.

The invites FINALLY went out on Monday of this week.  I think I finally started sleeping again once they were in the mail!  🙂  I thought you might like to hear some of the responses I’ve gotten (verbatim!):

“Dude!! Your invitations look amazeballs! *swoon*”

“Dude, your wedding invitations are super nice! Omg letterpress!”

“Sophisticated, modern , yet a bit old fashion! So fun opening all the layers. This is going to be the social event of the summer! Your names both look so strong and artful written out.”

“Love the invitation!!!”

“Love it!!  Looks really lovely sweetie”

“Beautiful, well done!!”

Thank you again for everything, Elma!  I’m trying to think of excuses to work with you again and make amazing letterpress art!  🙂

Letterpress Invitations: Simply Gold

I am obsessed with printing with our gold ink it appears! I can’t stress enough how much I love printing something so simple, yet timeless. It was quite an interesting story on how I was able to work with Susanna on her wedding invitations a few months ago. Apparently Susanna was looking for Letterpress Wedding Invitations and some how found Simply Letterpressed after a few Google searches. Upon looking through the blog and seeing my name, she connected it back to an old high school friend of hers, who she happened to still be friends with on Facebook. It turns out she was friends with my husband. What a small world, right? They went to high school and college together and she now resides in New York. She e-mailed my husband and he got us in touch. She was such a pleasure to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed working on her Letterpress Invitations suite. It just boggles my mind at times at how small this world can be! Social media, too! What a great way to stay connected to everyone you know!

Her invitations were printed on Crane Lettra 220# in Pearl white and the additional Letterpress Cards were printed on 110# in Pearl White.  I’m also obsessed with edge painting.  It just gives it that extra, subtle, pop of wow.

Michelle & David’s Letterpress Wedding Invitations

I’ve recently worked with Michelle on her wedding invitations and she is such a joy to work with.  She is a freelance designer and had such a beautiful concept of what she wanted her wedding invitations to look like.   I absolutely loved working with her and fell in love with her design.  I love the soft pink (I’m such a sucker for pink) and elegant font.  The whole look (and feel, literally) of the invitations just made me all giddy inside.  I love weddings and stationery!   Oh yeah, and pink!  She opted for the edge paint, which we’ve been doing a lot lately (and I LOVE it).  I think it just topped everything off nicely and just gave it that extra WOW factor.  I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.  Did I mention how much I loved printing these?
