Letterpress Wedding Invitations: #TBT Series – Emily + Daniel

I wanted to start a series of Throwback Thursday posts featuring some of the letterpress wedding invitations that I’ve printed in the past and didn’t get a chance to showcase on the blog. To kick start TBT, I wanted to feature Emily and Daniel’s letterpress cards that might have even been the last suite that I printed before going on leave, if I can remember correctly. Emily contacted me initially in December 2014 for the letterpress printing of her wedding invitations. Her wedding is actually coming up in a few short weeks so I figured, what better timing to show these beauts off. She’s getting married in beautiful Hawaii (kind of wishing I was there right now)!

Emily submitted her own design for the letterpress printing of her invitations. I was really excited when she sent the designs over and couldn’t wait to get to printing.

Emily and Daniel’s letterpress wedding invitations were printed using our Pearl White 110# cardstock for both the invitation and RSVP. She opted for Cool Gray 7 for the font color and a nice bright yellow for the orchids, which I thought complimented each other very well. I was happy to know that she was local so I was able to meet up with Emily and hand deliver these to her.

Happy Wedding, Emily and Daniel! I hope your big day will be everything you imagined and more!

Storybook Inspired Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Elizabeth + Samuel

This is my first blog after returning from maternity leave and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty exciting to be able to post about letterpress wedding invitations again! Oh, how I’ve missed thee! I was basically letterpress printing up until I gave birth. Printing with a belly was not easy, but I somehow did it! With that being said, I wanted to take the time to showcase one of the last projects I worked on before going on leave. I thoroughly enjoyed printing these letterpress cards because the concept was so cute!

When Elizabeth contacted me, she had a clear idea of what she wanted for her letterpress wedding invitations. She has her Masters in 19th Century British Lit and her fiance (now husband) proposed to her over a first edition Pride & Prejudice at a rare books library. With that said, she wanted a Storybook Inspired Letterpress Wedding Invitations. They got married at Aldie Mansion in Pennsylvania and wanted to include an image of the mansion on the invites as well, which she submitted herself. I am so pleased with how it all came together and love the colors she picked. It gave it such a sweet, romantic feel for this storybook inspired letterpress wedding invitations.

These invitations were printed on our Pearl White cardstock. The invitation was on the 220# paper and RSVP was on our 110#. She also purchased matching envelopes to go with the suite (not pictured). The letterpress cards were all printed on our C&P.

With their wedding being just a few short months ago, I wanted to also take this time to congratulate the newlyweds! I hope your days are fill with much love and laughter and that your journey into this new life together will be bring you much, much happiness!

Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Julie + Ben

With Julie and Ben’s wedding coming up in November, I wanted to take this time to showcase the letterpress wedding invitations we printed for them a few weeks ago.  Julie initially contacted me in July and explained that she was interested in a classic/romantic look with blush and champagne/gold as her colors with blush edge paint.  She wanted to incorporate some flowers to give it kind of a “beachy” feel.  They’re originally from the Midwest, but are getting married here in California at the beautiful The Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel!  Along with her letterpress wedding invitations, the other letterpress cards that were incorporated in her invitation suite were the RSVP, Accommodations, and Events cards.

Julie and Ben’s letterpress cards were printed on our trusty C&P using our Pearl White cardstock.  The colors we used were gold (absolutely one of our favorites here) and blush that we mixed matching Pantone 698U.  We also provided letterpress printing on the envelopes with their return address printed on the back flap (not pictured for privacy purposes).

I was really pleased with the final product and was ecstatic to send these over to Julie!  Of course, shortly after she received the package, she sent me the most wonderful e-mail!

 Hi Elma,

I just came home and received the invitations.  They are AMAZING!!!  I cannot tell you how much I love them, thank you so much for all of your hard work and getting everything together so fast!  I never thought I would be the type of person that would care that much about wedding invitations (I originally thought I was just going to use a template found on one of those invitation websites), but I really enjoyed the process and love the fact that these are original!

These seriously made my day!

I really can’t emphasize enough how much I love getting e-mails like this.  I get so excited printing invitations and when the bride gets just as excited as I am over them, makes me smile from ear to ear!  Thank you, Julie, for being so great to work with!  Your special day is coming up and I wish you and Ben all the world’s best!

Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Tami + Ken

I recently had the great pleasure of working with Tami and Ken on their letterpress wedding invitations.  They are tying the knot next month at the beautiful La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California.  Tami also happens to be one of our close friend’s sister and I was more than happy to play a small role in her wedding.  I started working closely with Tami in early January for her August wedding.  We bounced a lot of ideas off each other and tried a few different designs before we settled upon the designs on the cards below.  As far as the color scheme goes, she decided on fuchsia and silver.  She mailed me a fuchsia colored sash that she wanted to incorporate and from that, I was able to match it to create the colors you see on the orchids and details below.  She was sweet enough to send me a photo of how she assembled the pieces together.  I’m absolutely obsessed with the final product.  She did such a great job!

The Letterpress Wedding Invitations:

The cards were printed on our C&P in our Fluorescent White Cardstock.  The invitations were printed in our thick 220# cardstock while the additional pieces were printed on the 110# cardstock.  I really had a great time printing these cards and I really loved how the fuchsia color printed onto the bright white card.

When Tami e-mailed me the photos, she also sent a sweet thank you note as well:

Letterpress Invitations: Save the Date

I am currently working with Nicole on her Letterpress Invitations for her upcoming wedding in September, but I wanted to showcase her letterpress Save the Dates we printed for her a few months ago.  She initially contacted me at the end of 2013 for her letterpress cards and I’m so glad we were able to do the letterpress printing for her and her fiance.  I’m honored she wanted to get the rest of her letterpress invitation suite printed through us and I’m having a ton of fun designing it so far.

Letterpress Invitations: Save the Date

Letterpress Printing:

The letterpress printing was done on our C&P (yet again).  🙂  These were printed in our Pearl White cardstock in the 110#.  She wanted to incorporate a New York skyline since the wedding will take place in New York City.  She also wanted to include a little heart right above it which I thought was the cutest touch!  We used our black ink for the text and I hand mixed the blush color for the skyline on the bottom.  I love how soft and romantic this letterpress card looks.

I, of course, sent a follow up e-mail to make sure she received them safely.  She responded with:
