Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Brynn + Robert

I had the great joy of recently working with Brynn and Robert on their Letterpress Wedding Invitations for their May 2014 wedding.  Brynn contacted me in early January and is getting married at the glorious Disney’s Wedding Pavilion in Florida.  When she initially contacted me, she expressed what she was looking for in her invitation suite.  She said, “Overall, we’re looking for a classic design, can be formal, romantic, vintage, Floridian, etc. Our color scheme is light pink, red, white, blue, and gold since our wedding is over Fourth of July weekend. Feel free to play around with the 2-color scheme.”  She also mentioned that they liked bears and had a cute cake topper that consisted of two wedding bears.  Keeping this in mind, I decided to go for a “vintage Disney” look using a blue and gold color combination, wanting to keep it simple and classic.  I also really wanted to incorporate the two bears since it’s just too cute to pass up!

The Letterpress Printing

We printed the letterpress cards using our C&P.  The entire letterpress wedding invitations suite was printed with our Pearl White cardstock, which I feel is a perfect color as it plays into the vintage look we were going for.  The Pearl White just gives it a soft, romantic feel and I thought it tied together nicely with the design.  The two colors we used were Gold and a blue that I mixed to match Pantone 647U.  I absolutely loved the color combination used for this custom design.

The suite consisted of these specific pieces:

  • 2-color invitations on our 220# Pearl White cardstock
  • 2-color RSVP cards on our 110# Pearl White cardstock
  • 2-color additional card (rehearsal breakfast invitations) on our 110# Pearl White cardstock
  • 1-color program on our 110# Pearl White cardstock

I was really excited to ship them out!  I shipped them to her mom in Connecticut so she could  take care of the calligraphy for the envelopes.  I was a little bummed that Brynn and Robert wouldn’t see them in person, but a few days later, she sent me this wonderful follow-up e-mail:

 Hi Elma,

Apologize for the delayed response, but so happy I can say we’ve finally seen the invites!!! My sister just moved to LA and brought some back out here with her.

They are absolutely perfect, and have far exceeded our expectations! We love them and are such fans of your work! You did a great job, we really couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out!

The note you included was also so thoughtful! Hope we have the opportunity to work with you again in the future!

Best,

Brynn & Robbie

Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Katie + Tyler

I began working with Katie in December of 2013 on her Letterpress Wedding Invitations.  She’s getting married at the beautiful Anne Springs Close Greenway with her reception at The Magnolia Room in South Carolina this coming September.  When she initially contacted me, she told me she wanted a romantic feel to her custom design using the colors: blush and gold.  What a perfect color combination.  It just screamed romance in my eyes!  We incorporated some floral details in the corners to give it that romantic feel as well.  She did mention that she didn’t want it to be “too girly” so with that in mind, I thought using the Georgia font for the first names would make it less “girly,” and using a beautiful script font for their last names would still tie into the romantic look.  I thought having their last names overlap with their first names would be so cool especially with letterpress printing.  I was very pleased with the final product.

The Letterpress Printing

We printed the entire letterpress wedding invitations suite on our C&P.  The invitations, reception card, and RSVP card were all printed on our Pearl White cardstock in the 110#.  I thought the Pearl White was a perfect choice for this custom design as it gave the overall look a sweet, soft, romantic feel.

Letterpress Wedding Invitations with Pink Edge Paint: Codi+Eric

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Codi on her Letterpress Wedding Invitations. She literally just got them yesterday and I was so excited about them that I really wanted to showcase them on the blog today.  Codi contacted me in October of last year and was interested in a custom letterpress design.  She’s getting married in beautiful Hawaii this coming April and having a reception back at home in Ohio.  We worked on incorporating some tropical type leaves to give it more of that “beachy, fun” vibe.  We decided to do the leaves in a blind print and the text with our silver ink.  The rest of the suite was in the silver ink with the exception of the Accommodations card which was pink (to match the edge paint) and silver.  She also sent me this gorgeous custom monogram that I absolutely fell in love with.  I was excited to see how it would come out in letterpress printing and I was just over the moon with the final product!  So, without further ado, here they are!

The letterpress printing was done on my favorite C&P with our beautiful Pearl White cardstock.  The invitations were on the 220# and the accommodations and RSVP was printed on our 110#.

I updated her along the way with how the letterpress printing was going and updated her as much I could regarding her letterpress wedding invitations.  I sent her a few sneak peek because I really couldn’t contain my excitement over them and I just had to share!

I e-mailed her yesterday to make sure they arrived safely and this is what she sent back.  I love these types of e-mails as they truly make my day!

Letterpress Wedding Invitations: Katy + Phil

Happy Monday, friends!  I’m a little late on posting these Letterpress Wedding Invitations we printed for Katy and Phil back in August of 2013, but I love them too much not to share with you!

I started working with this lovely couple in early February of 2013.  They tied the knot at the beautiful Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina, and what a venue to get married at!  Katy and Phil wanted to go for a “Southern/French” feel for their letterpress invitations.  They wanted to incorporate kind of an “etched” look of designs and a beautiful custom monogram that Phil himself worked on and submitted to us!  Their custom letterpress designs consisted of beautiful images, different ones on each piece, with my favorite fonts printed in our Gold ink.  I really loved how the mint and coral colors came out as well.  We also had the main invitations edge painted with the gold color and it all just tied together so nicely!  I felt like the invitation suite was elegant, yet fun at the same time.  I just absolutely loved printing these!  Also, totally unplanned, but when I was printing the mint color, I happened to have on a mint polish on my nails that day that matched exactly to the mint ink.

Working closely with Katy and Phil on their letterpress invitations, I really felt a part of their wedding.  Does that sound weird?  I just feel so connected to each person I work with that I just feel so unbelievably honored to have been included in such an event in their lives.  Thank you, Katy and Phil, for being so fantastic to work with!

Letterpress Invitations: Allison + Marco

With their wedding quickly approaching (literally in a few days), I really wanted to take the time to showcase Allison and Marco’s letterpress invitations.  Allison and Marco are getting married this Friday at the beautiful Saint Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Pearl River, New York.  The reception follows at the picturesque The Rockleigh in New Jersey.

I started working with Allison in early January for their upcoming October 2013 wedding.  For their wedding invitations, she really wanted to incorporate lace details along with wine vines/grapes.  She also sent me a photo of an urn that they’re using for their centerpieces that she wanted to incorporate into the custom letterpress design as well.  We decided to go with a 2-color letterpress invitations design, leaving the vines/grapes detail in a blind impression, giving it a subtle look amongst the elaborate border surrounding it.  The urn, nestled in between the vines, is also in a blind impression.  Because we decided to go with that for those details, I was able to get a deep impression which really showcases the letterpress print so beautifully.

She sent me this stunning image of the church that they’re getting married at and wanted include this in the map design.  Boy, was I excited to print that one!   I just knew the details of that church would print great!  For their response cards, we went with a postcard, which I love.  Their entire Letterpress Wedding Invitations were printed on our Pearl White cardstock in 110#.
